15 Days & going strong

It’s been 15 days since I quit smoke & it feels good.

Immediate health benefits of quitting smoking per prominent medical journals.

•           20 minutes - your blood pressure and heart rate return to normal
•           Eight hours - blood levels of nicotine, oxygen and poisonous carbon monoxide begin to return to normal
•           Two days - lungs begin to clear and sense of taste and smell start returning
•           Three days - energy levels increase and breathing becomes easier
•           Two -12 weeks - blood circulation gets better and exercise gets easier
As I was not smoking a pack/day but more  of 1-2 sticks / day I can’t  make out these improvements.

Here are immediate benefits that I see.

•           Am feeling good that I am able to stick to my plan.
•           Have 20-30 minutes extra for myself each day.
•           My tea consumption has reduced by 2 cups/day
•           Am saving 40 Rupees /day.

This is a minor milestone, which I would like to stretch and ensure it only grows each day.

Quit...

Have been a smoker for years.. quit multiple times started it again at some weak moments, found it tough to quit for months.

I finally quit it on eventful day of Feb 5th. It's birthday of one of  few angels in my life which spurred the decision.

Had to quit anyway, am not getting any younger, don't want to suffer due to ill health & become burden on others at any point in life.

Changes are happening at home too. Big & significant changes with ability to alter your view about life completely.

Need to  be better prepared for it physically &  mentally. Healthier & fitter version of myself 2 years back gives me an inspiration to get back to that state..

Finally - Term Insurance !

Finally, yes - such a damn simple thing and yet such delayed action. It's been story of my life..

Never the less, am happy. I acted & bought a term insurance after dilly dallying for 2+ years on this day.  It's a simple & must have for anyone who has dependents.

If your spouse does not have one, please ensure u get it done & pay from your pocket :) You will be better off not to worrying about financial dependency.

Most of us spend so much time on not so important things in life but keep postponing on critical ones.

There will be triggers which lead to a change and for me I presume tide has changed today.

Its first step, need to get medical tests done and await issuance of insurance in next 7-10 days.
